Emilia Fan Stories

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the US! If you follow Kaos Online on Twitter and Facebook you may have noticed I mentioned sharing stories about why you’re thankful for BSB to win a BSB sweatshirt. You still have time to write something until Friday. Either head over to BackstreetBoys.com and blog about it if you’re a Fan Club member, post on Twitter or Instagram. Make sure to use the hashtag #ThankfulForBSB on social media. Two winners from Twitter/Instagram and two winners from the Backstreet Boys Fan Club will be chosen.

I wanted to share my own story as to why I’m thankful for Nick. If you’re a long time visitor of my site you may already know that I’ve mentioned some things in the past, but I felt the need to share this.

Most BSB fans that have visited my site over the years and on social media know that I help post news on Nick’s official site and moderate his fan club. I’ve been doing this for over 5 years now. I was given this opportunity thanks to Nick and Eddie (owner of Wonderful Union). I’ve had this fan site on Nick and BSB for over 11 years now. Never in a million years did I ever imagined that I’d be asked to work on a offical site of someone I’ve been a fan of since I was 12 and to find out he was a fan of my site. I’ve always been gateful to have this opportunity. Especially when times have been tough for me over the years.

In 2014 I had the chance to meet Nick thanks to his wife as a thank you for everything I do here and on his site. A year later in 2015 Nick sent me a signed team sharnick t-shirt for not only supporting him when he was on DWTS, but for everything. I never expected any of this to happen. I was just glad to be a part of his site. Things like these made me see just how appreciative Nick is towards his fans. These past 5 years I’ve gotten to chat a little with Nick through Twitter dm. It’s not often as I know how busy he is. The times I did chat with him or when he replied to my tweets he has shown me just how supportive and caring he is. In 2015 he responded to a tweet about me having surgery that a friend sent and wanted to know about it. Which meant a lot to me and it was one of the first times I felt that Nick cared about me outside of what I do on my site and his. Knowing he gets a lot of tweets I didn’t think he’d reply, but he did. In the past I’ve had people say Nick should tweet you more and I always say I don’t mind because I rather other fans get the chance to get a tweet by him.

Last year I told him I was re-reading his book in hopes it would help me with some issues I was going through. His response was that he’s always there for me. I don’t like talking about my personal issues, but over the years I found it hard to trust people and make friends online. One of the reasons is because I was bullied for four years by another fan over 14 years ago online. I know it’s been so long, but things like this can still affect you years later. People believed this person when she said she knew Howie. I never did so when I called her out that’s when the bullying began. Long story short that situation was mentally frustrating to the point I never wanted to come online again. During that time Nick’s solo album and BSB music helped me get throught it. If it weren’t for their music I wouldn’t be here typing this, I wouldn’t have my site and I wouldn’t be a part of Nick’s site. So, to see Nick say he’s always there for me made me happy to know that he cares and I felt that he genuinely cared about me.

Nick is one of the few people who has always loved his fans and showed his appreciation for them. I’m glad to be a fan of his and appreciate everything he’s done for me over these last 5 years and to have had their music over the years.
