Florida Georgia Line will be releasing a new album on August 26 called Dig Your Roots. The album features a collaboration with the Backstreet Boys called “God, Your Mama and Me”. The duo previewed their album on August 2 in Nashville and talked about their collaboration with BSB. CMT.com shared the details.

Making Dig Your Roots was also an opportunity to get fans into the music the grew up loving, which was a happy mix of everything. At the beginning of the conference, Kelley revealed that his first concert was the Backstreet Boys and that Hubbard’s first CD was by the group.

During the 2016 CMA Music Festival, the duo actually became friends with singer Nick Carter and invited him on their tour bus for a listening session the new material. When they played “God, Your Mama and Me,” Carter loved what he heard and played it for the rest of the band.

The next thing Kelley and Hubbard know, their longtime producer Joey Moi is flying to Los Angeles to record guest vocals with the group and just like that — a rare Backstreet Boys country collaboration was born. According to Billboard, group previously sang with Shania Twain for a CBS special in 1999.

“Speaking of collaborations,” Kelley said, “when they happen, it’s all about the song and it’s all about timing. This one just fit, and that magic was there. They’re good guys.”

Early this year Nick mentioned in a interview about Backstreet Boys doing a 9 show residency trial run in Las Vegas. We saw AJ and Kevin attend Britney Spears Piece of Me residency show in Vegas with their manager as well. Word is that they’re looking into using the same venue Britney is using, Axis at Planet Hollywood. The trial run is to see whether or not a full residency (like Britney Spears is doing) would do well based on these shows. We heard from the Boys that it would happen either late this year or early next year in January. Last thing we heard was January and last month while at a KTU’s KTUphoria summer concert at Jones Beach Kevin mentioned that they weren’t allowed to say much on the Vegas gig other than an announcement would be made soon. Giving us hope that this will happen and it’s something currently being worked on.

This weekend Nick and AJ were at Fandom Fest in Louisville, KY and during their Dead 7 panel AJ talked about when BSB would tour. Mentioning they won’t tour until their next album is released and that their next concert will probably be their temporary residency possibly in March.

At the moment this is all we know on the residency trial run. Should any other information be released or whenever these shows are officially announced I’ll be sure to update everyone as soon as I can.

Thanks to fatonefan at thedarksidebsb.net forums for the new information.
