The Backstreet Boys Are Better Than Ever

Backstreet’s back…but they’ve never left! After 24 years together, AJ, Brian, Howie, Kevin and Nick are better than ever, working on their ninth studio album and thrilling fans with their five-part harmonies and syncopated dance routines during Larger Than Life, their massive Las Vegas residency at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. What started as a string of nine dates has grown into over 40 shows through February of next year, and if the guys have their way, they’ll be out here performing for the next two years — or longer. And not only are the guys in top form, but their fans, whether twenty and thirtysomethings who have been listening to them since their self-titled debut in ’96 or kids who discovered them on the Internet two decades later, are also not messing around. Catch one of their shows and you’ll find grown women on the verge of tears, holding signs that profess their still-burning love for one of the five. In the midst of one such string of shows, we talked to the Boys about their lives in Las Vegas, their onstage chemistry and what we can expect from their newest record.

How has the residency been going this summer?

Nick Carter: We have been having the time of our life here in Las Vegas. Some of us have actually moved here, we’re recording our next album here. The town has really embraced us.

Emilia Fan Projects

Next year will be the Boys 25th anniversary and to celebrate the anniversary, Sara at What Happens on the Backstreet has started a project for it. The idea is to get a full page ad in Billboard Magazine to celebrate the anniversary. In order to do so this will require fans contribution. It takes a lot to get an ad into Billboard Magazine especially a full page ad. The project is a huge opportunity for the Backstreet Army to come together and do something special for the Boys. Learn more about the project below and if you would like to contribute visit the Go Fund Me page to donate how ever much you can to help. Also, help spread the word about the project to your friends and other fans!

Since 1993, Kevin, Howie, Brian, AJ and Nick have been showing EVERYBODY how to rock their body and have truly become a LARGER THAN LIFE piece of who we are. How do we celebrate a band that has given us some of the best memories, some of the best friends, and the soundtrack to the past two and a half decades of our lives?

There is NOTHING we can do that can touch what the Backstreet Boys have done for and have meant to us. There aren’t enough words and there isn’t enough time in the world. What we can do though, is band together to publish a FULL PAGE AD from us to them to thank them for everything and to celebrate the accomplishment of 25 years together as a group, defying the odds and the music industry everyday.

So, here’s what we’re going to do…

What Do You Mean By “We”?

All of us. Every single fan is invited to take part in this project because, young or old, if you’re reading this, every single one of us has been affected by the Backstreet Boys at one point in time. No one is taking credit for this project because it will literally be a group effort.

What Is It?

A full page ad in Billboard magazine for April 2018 – the month that BSB will celebrate their 25th anniversary. This magazine is not only read by music fans, but some of the most powerful people in the music industry, reaching nearly 150k readers. You can also access the full magazine on the Billboard app every month.
