Entertainment Weekly shared a scene where the Backstreet Boys are recording the song Madeleine. AJ talks about the track and how Nick struggled with recording. Watch the deleted scene on their website.

If you’ve yet to see the Backstreet Boys documentary, Backstreet Boys: Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of, Fathom Events is offering one more chance to catch the film when it re-releases it in 400 cinemas nationwide on May 13. Added bonus: The film will be followed by a recording of a live acoustic performance that the band performed at the U.K. premiere of the documentary in February.

In anticipation of the film’s re-release, we have an exclusive deleted scene from the emotional documentary, in which Nick Carter struggles to find his vocals for “Madeleine.”

“With the death of his sister, when we were actually cutting that song, [Nick] was having trouble channeling what he wanted his vocal to sound like,” A.J. McLean said. “And we were like, ‘Think about Leslie.’”

“This song talks about overcoming adversity and really going from having this negative outlook on life to just rising up to the occasion,” McLean continued. “When I approached our producing team, I had a long talk with them the day before they actually wrote ‘Madeleine’ about all this online bullying, all the anti-gay rallies. I’m a huge advocate for the LGBTQ community. I always have been, always will be. To keep turning on CNN and it’s another gay teen suicide, another gay teen bully, it was driving me bats–t crazy.

MANILA, Philippines — For the most successful boy band of the ’90s, the Backstreet Boys are among artists who best put into song what they were going through.

Their songs even advise them on what to do in the toughest times of their lives.

During their one-night concert on Tuesday, the Backstreet Boys reminded their fans life lessons they learn and teach through their songs.
Never settle for less

Many of those who are single would agree to this life lesson, which they taught through the song “Quit Playing Games”. The first two lines of the song say it all:

“Even in my heart I see, you’re not being true to me.”

So why settle for someone who will just “play games” with your heart, right?
