May 17, 2018 was an exciting day for the Backstreet Boys as they released “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” their first single in 5 years since “Show ‘Em (What You’re Made Of)” in 2013. It’s been a while and the boys seem to be off to a great start with their new single. Many US and Canadian radio stations have tweeted about playing the song. Various stations played it ALL DAY. It’s been many years since I’ve seen radio stations excited for their newer music.

In less than 10 hours (around 10am ET) the single went to #1 on the iTunes Pop chart and overall chart in the U.S. It’s been one day since the releaseand the song is STILL #1. They even beat Christina Aguilera for the top spot who also recently released a new single. The single managed to reach #1 in other countries such as Canada, Denmark, Chile, Brazil and more. While reaching the top 10 in 29 countries. The music video is also #1. The boys thanked everyone for making the single #1. View the video on Facebook.

Not only did the single reach #1 on iTunes, but #DontGoBreakingMYHeart made it to the top spot on Twitter’s U.S. trending topics list within 2 hours after the release. You can see a screenshot here. They stayed on top spot of the trending topics almost all morning. The video also made YouTube’s trending list peaking at the #2 post right now!
