All About Kaos Online

In 2003 I started a few Backstreet Boys Yahoo Groups. This was almost a launching pad of sorts into what became a hobby of mine of running fan pages to share news. In 2005 I helped with another popular fan site by being moderator on their forum and also shared news. It wasn’t until the summer of 2006 when I decided I wanted my own fan site to show my support for Backstreet Boys and to update fans on the latest news. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do a fan site on BSB or just Nick. Eventually I started a site on Nick. Back in the day there was already a few other popular sites on Nick, but that didn’t stop me from creating my own site for him. The site originally was on a sub domain and called Blow Your Mind. It launched on July 12, 2006. I named the site after one of my favorite songs off Nick’s first solo album “Now or Never”.

After a few months my site (along with others fan sites on the same host) was moved to another fan site host. Around December 2006 I thought the site could use its own domain and a new name. I didn’t want the same old same old type of name for the site. I wanted something different and came up with the name Kaos Online. Kaos is one of Nick’s nicknames. The site relaunched under Kaos-Online.com on December 16, 2006. This is where Kaos Online all began. I’ve also switched from manually making pages in PHP to using WordPress in 2008. As of 2017 the site has been online for over 11 years under the Kaos Online domain. Although now the domain is a .net and no longer .com due to my previous host being forced to close.

Owning Kaos Online has given me great opportunities over the years. I’ve always known that Nick knew about Kaos Online. Back in 2008 he joined a MySpace group I had for Kaos Online. He never said anything about the site before, but just knowing he joined the group meant that he had seen the site and liked it. Which I was happy about. It wasn’t until June 2012 that I was given the opportunity to actually update Nick’s official site. Nick himself wanted me to be apart of his site. Never did I imagine something like this happening. Everything I had done over the years on the site Nick appreciated it and in the end it gave me this amazing opportunity. Knowing that he is a fan of my site and wanted me to be apart of his meant a lot to me. It’s a great feeling to know that he appreciates all that I do on Kaos Online and his site as well. It keeps me motivated to continue to do what I do on both sites.

For me running fan sites is about having fun and enjoying what you do. If people like the site then that’s what counts. When people send me messages on Twitter thanking me for all the updates it makes me happy to see that fans find the site useful on keeping updating on our favorite Boys. That’s what this site is here for. I’ve gotten to meet many fans from all over the world who would follow the Twitter account for the site, made some great friends because of not only BSB, but this site as well.

I want to thank everyone who has ever helped contribute photos, media etc over the years and to all the fans that have visited. As well as to Nick and BSB without them this site wouldn’t exist and without the site I wouldn’t be getting to do what I love to do on Nick’s site.
